My special afternoon with Logan

I spent a great afternoon at Logan's school celebrating Mother's Day (albeit a week post Mother's Day due to scheduling conflict at the church) but it was worth the wait. Logan had been very secretive about what his class had prepared for all of the first grade mothers and it was such a wonderful experience seeing all of these children so excited to share their mothers with all of their classmates.

There was a cute little processinal, followed by songs that the children sang to their mothers. Then as the children recessed, each child handed their mother a rose. After the ceremony, some of the eighth grade students had helped the first graders put together a great PPT presentation with a photo of each student saying why their mom should be "Mother of the Year." All the first graders made their moms' a special gift, a heart shaped key chain with their photo inside (Logan's decoration was too cute!) After the presentation the students brought over cookies and punch.

It was a wonderful afternoon and something that I'll always remember.

My favorite first grader!
